Heraldry is the science of coats of arms. The Norwegian Heraldry Society is the Norwegian institution for everybody who takes an interest in heraldry, seals, merchants’ marks, flags, badges etc.

The Society arranges meetings, usually every second Monday of the month, with the exception of January, April, July and August. The meetings alternate between lectures and ”heraldic workshops”, and the venue is usually ”Slektssentret”, Lakkegaten 19/21, Oslo.

Members receive 2-3 issues a year of the members’ magazine ”Våpenbrevet”, and also other suggestions and information. The Society is closely associated with related societies in other countries, particularly the Scandinavian Heraldry Society (Societas Heraldica Scandinavica).

Membership in NHF costs NOK 200 for individual members and NOK 1000 for companies, organizations and the like. It can be obtained directly at any of the Society’s meetings, or by writing to the address below or by sending an e-mail.
